The County of Lake, City of Clearlake, and City of Lakeport worked from 2023 through 2025 to develop a Climate Adaptation Plan addressing a range of climate-related hazards and build community resilience countywide. Funded by the California Adaptation Planning Grant Program (APGP), the plan builds on the Lake County Climate Vulnerability Analysis, which identifies populations, infrastructure, and natural resources most susceptible to climate hazards. This town hall offered an opportunity for the County project team to present the Lake County Climate Adaptation Plan to the Lake County Community Risk Reduction Authority and the public stakeholder to gather community input. This meeting provided residents, community organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders with an overview of the plan's key findings and proposed strategies, followed by an opportunity for public comment and guided discussion.
Video from the Townhall on July 25, 2024. The County participated in a research project conducted by Dr. Francisca N. Santana, focused on compounding wildfire threats in Northern California. These are her findings.
